The 9 Things Your Parents Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's base stats increase when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be found on all tooltips of items. It also serves to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at a lower level). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
The level of an item can help players compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a measure of the damage and its quality. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a vendor.
On PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that determines how much an item upgrading's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value, and also that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real item level.
This isn't the only factor that influences the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may alter its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrade." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.
Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.
Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can do things like give the item additional damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items which can be used to add to the upgrade item gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are a unique item, or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
This is another aspect that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item upgrader level, and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous in the early game, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.
The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading the item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
