Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of many Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading the performance of them. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item that they're connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have distinct effects. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it stronger and lighter. Using more jewels in a move will make it more smooth, and is often performed for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and create a surface harder than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not damage them.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your weapons and shields. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped out at any time however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot.
