15 Presents For That Item Upgrade Lover In Your Life
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrades by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the item upgrader kit being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item level upgrade will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show a preview of an item level upgrade's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the Item Level Upgrade as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of equipment.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for gear with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
