World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats improve in value. This value is the total of all of its upgraded advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can look at the item level. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it is able to deal. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done using the item's level.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its level. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is typically close to the actual Blizzard item level.

This is not the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification which are then increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item level upgrade will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to make them unique by adding a name.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other methods of rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, it must be done per item, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn with the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an overall success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
