9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader you choose and what type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the number of perks that must be changed in order to upgrade an item.
Item level is a widely used measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet.
Using the item level can help players compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items from a vendor's stock can be done using the item's level.
On PC, you are able to see the level of the Best item upgrader by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the Best item upgrader's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item upgrader mod with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are various theories on how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that determines the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzard's actual item level.
However, this is not the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl since the size of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses a variety of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.
Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded once and items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher prices.
Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage or special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.
Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.
Players can upgrade an item to a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat within that range unless they are an exclusive item or a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.
Best item upgrade Luck
The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial for early game runs, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Additionally some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or created using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. All items have a base success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
The upgrade overlays for items are displayed above items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
