9 . What Your Parents Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increase when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the upgraded perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you do. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.
Item level is a popular measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.
The level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a useful gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done using the level of the item.
The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item level upgrade and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's real item level.
However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, because the size of the area the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then boosted by the player's level.
Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.
Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can do things like give the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circling arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it is a unique item or an item that is a God roll from a boss in a raid.
This is another aspect that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful in early game runs since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chances that increase with each level of the item. It is also possible to be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor, and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.
Moreover, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be bought at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be costly and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%.
The performance of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by five percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects may be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (Recommended Reading) CORE client config.
