The 10 Scariest Things About Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
To upgrade an item of armor, the player has to choose it and click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from earlier versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level, but the required materials don't increase as much. This lets players focus their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
When an item is completed in this way, it is eligible for a new set of upgrade components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item upgrader kit is at its current level, and in which slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower chance of success.
Engineers may employ a level to compare the height of the building with an established point, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be done via the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.
Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded Best item upgrader may be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are offered in addition to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater the chance of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also comes with number set that grants a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is a great method to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to create a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They could be of various sizes, have none of the elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.
There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have lots of armor or weapons already.
Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs that can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to parity with their levels. For instance, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To see if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
